ABOUT MAGGIE HOLLAND

Maggie started coaching at the Canterbury Ice Rink in the late 70's. She became the National Short Track coach in 1990 and held that position until 1996.

During Maggie's tenure as National Coach for the Men's 5000m Relay Team, the following was achieved:

*1992 - 1st 5000m Relay World Championships, Sydney, Australia

*1993 - 3rd 5000m Relay World Championships, Beijing, China

*1994 - 3rd 5000m Relay Winter Olympic Games, Lillehammer, Norway (Australia's first Winter Olympic medal)

*1994 - 2nd 5000m Relay World Championships, Guildford, United Kingdom

Maggie has coached club champions, state champions, Australian champions and Olympic champions, and continues to coach today concentrating on new skaters in Skate School on Monday nights and the Sydney Arrows Ice Racing Club's junior skaters.

In 2008 Maggie was inducted into the Australian Ice Racing (AIR) Hall of Fame for her leadership of the 5000m men's relay team along with her lifelong commitment to coaching.
